Manasi Sridhar is a junior at Tualatin High School. On a visit to India, she was inspired by the dances and costumes on TV and started learning Bharatanatyam when she was 6 with Ms. Subha Singaram. She has been learning dance at the Anjali School of Dance since 2013. She has given several stage performances during this time and was part of the school's "Murder on the Ganges" production. She is an honors student at her school, as well as an officer on the Future Business Leaders of America, Tualatin High School chapter.
Manasi is a die-hard Patriots fan and loves reading, watching football and soccer, running, and hanging out with her friends. She is on her school's cross country team and has raced in the Nike Cross Country Regionals and the annual Stanford University Cross Country Invitational. She is interested in women's issues and writes about them in her school's newspaper. She likes to help support organizations that further refugees, women’s and children’s causes and has volunteered at the public library to help tutor students in math. She has been selected to serve on the City of Tualatin ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Task Force this year.
Manasi is the 25th student to perform her arangetram through the Anjali School of Dance.
